KTF to host 12 FAM trips post IATO Convention in Bengaluru TravelBiz Monitor, August 24, 2009 |

Karnataka Tourism Forum (KTF), a non-profit organisation comprising of 200 private stakeholders from the tourism industry in Karnataka will host 12 FAM trips after the 25th Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) Convention in Bengaluru, which will be held from September 3-6, 2009. It will organise FAM trips to destinations like Banerghatta National Park and Art of Living Centre; city tour and shopping in Bengaluru; Karnataka cooking experience and wine trail; day trip to Mysore; one night, two day trips to destinations like Tirupati, Chitradurga – Hampi, Bhemeshwari Fishing camp, Mysore - Hassan- Chickmagalur, Coorg – Kabini and three day itineraries covering destinations like Chitradurga – Hampi - Badami – Aihole – Pattadakkal, Bhadra – Malpe - Gokarna – Karwar and three day tours on the Golden Chariot.
KTF is looking at focusing on four areas of destination promotion which include: development of Sustainable and Experience Tourism on the coast of Karnataka and positioning it as a self drive option; developing and projecting Coorg as a coffee country experience with visit to coffee plantations and accommodation facilities like Bed and Breakfast and homestays; positioning Hampi as a history and culture destination and market Bengaluru as a cosmopolitan gateway to the Tier II and III cities. Speaking to TravelBiz Monitor, Loveleen Arun, Vice President, KTF said, “KTF takes the IATO convention as a huge opportunity to showcase the destination especially to the decision makers of the industry. The members of KTF are hosting the FAM trips after the event.” |

KARNATAKA TOURISM FORUM BRINGS TOGETHER THE INDUSTRY TO MAKE KARNATAKA THE No 1 TOURIST DESTINATION OF INDIA |

4th MARCH 2008, Bangalore: Karnataka Tourism Forum (KTF) is a registered non-profit organization comprising companies and professionals from across the Tourism sector in Karnataka.
Members of KTF consist of airlines, airports, travels agencies, holiday companies, hotels, resorts, transport companies, educational institutions, travel publications, writers etc. The forum has achieved several accolades in its contribution to the Tourism sector in Karnataka. The state as well as the central governments have accepted and supported our efforts whole heartedly. KTF works in tandem with the government agencies involved in policy formulation relating to tourism and acts as an advisory body suggesting and assisting with necessary measures and steps towards promoting tourism. There are several initiatives taken up by the Forum like VISION 2010 for Karnataka Tourism, Driver’s Training, Treasure Hunt, FAM Tours for tour operators and publishing of a tourist guide called ‘Karnataka Explorer’.
The monthly event of Karnataka Tourism Forum – KTF SPEAK was held at The Lalit Ashok, Bangalore today and was attended by the Director,Tourism; Mr K Viswanatha Reddy, IAS; Mr Vinay Luthra MD, KSTDC and several senior members of the trade. As the industry faces the adverse economic challenges, celebrated speaker Harish Bijoor shared his insights on how to tackle these challenges head on.
Speaking on the occasion, the KTF President, Mr Cherian Ramapuram said, “I am delighted that KTF members are not camped alongside the ‘gloom and doom’ prophets multiplying across the horizon. By nature, our members are positive, forward-looking, pro-active… an incurably optimistic and inspired bunch! He further added that - There is huge energy amongst KTF members and a massive membership drive is on. Many events are planned. The vision and mission of KTF was presented by Mr Chidambara, Core committee member and CEO, Sri Sathya Sai Tourists.
Karnataka Tourism is led by the dynamic Tourism & Infrastructure Minister Mr Janardhana Reddy assisted by Principal Secretary Mr Jyothi Ramalingam and Director Tourism Mr Viswanatha Reddy. |
